J. Cole: The Fall-Off World Tour
Published on
I've been looking forward to this show since I managed to get tickets more than half a year ago now. J. Cole has been a big name in the hip-hop game for a long while and I've been tapped into his music for a little bit, so this was a must-see artist for me.
We had standing tickets, and we landed right next to a corridor in the middle of the crowd which security kept free for the "emergency exits" (wink wink nudge nudge). I knew Cole started his set from in between the crowd on one of the balconies, and he'd have to make his way down to the stage somehow. I figured this was the path he'd use to make his way over there after starting the show.
And what do you know? I was right. He started with 39 intro in the middle of the crowd on the balcony, and made his way through the crowd to the stage, right past us. I even got blessed with a dap from the GOAT.

The rest of the show was obviously incredible. The crowd was honestly the best I've ever seen at a hip-hop show: super respectful, no pushing and shoving, dancing, and singing along to what felt like J. Cole's entire discography that got played.
His energy is super infectious. Hype when the song warranted it, but super down-to-earth and chill when the energy needed to be brought down a little. Guy is the embodiment of "real".

Stand out tracks from the show were Poor Thang, Old Dog, Work Out, and of course No Role Modelz. Infinitely thankful for this experience, what a fantastic night!
