Bruno Mars: The Romantic tour

Published on July 12th, 2026

One of the artists I've always wanted to see live was Bruno Mars, and today was the day! I had a "regular" standing ticket, so quite far away from the stage, but that didn't stop me from having the time of my life.

First came DJ Pee .Wee, Anderson .Paak's DJ alter ego. He got the crowd moving with some 70s, 80s, 90s, and zeroes hits, and treated us to some of his own songs too. Hearing Am I Wrong live was a dream come true 👌

Victoria Monet followed, and she gave one hell of a performance. While I'm not intimately familiar with her music, some songs off her Jaguar II album has made its way onto my playlist(s) so I was pleased to get to experience them live.

Then the main course: Bruno Mars. He first teased us with a recorded version of Nothin' On You, and then opened the show with Cha Cha Cha. What I immediately noticed was how effortless Bruno makes it seem. He just has that "ease" to him that instantly gets (and keeps!) your attention when he's on the stage. Years of practice will do that for you I guess.

About halfway through, Anderson .Paak joined Bruno on stage to perform some of their Silk Sonic songs. It felt like I was the only person in my area that was actually enjoying this part of the show. So many people around me had either never heard of Silk Sonic or just weren't into this part of Bruno's repetoire. Unfortunate.

Closing the show off with some slow jams and the final Uptown Funk. I think Bruno Mars might be the best live performance I've seen so far. Incredible.
