Photober 2026: week two
Published on
We're past the second week of Photober, so here's the photos from the past 7 days.

I saw this cat on a pair of stone stairs in Croatia, and with that pattern I just knew I had to snap a photo. This intense stare was the cherry on top.

I photographed these jellyfish in an aquarium in a couple years ago, and I was struck by how detailed the tentacles are in this photo. I really loved the colors in this one too, the lighting above the tank these fellas were in made them glow like nothing I'd seen before.

I really liked this framing of the Acropolis in Athens, Greece with the pink flowers in the top left and right of the photo. The Acropolis and the hill itself are such an imposing place, so I'm happy to have gotten this shot.

More from my visit to Dubrovnik a couple years back. This shot of the orange roofs, the tower standing tall above the street below, and the yellow bricks stood out for the colors and the light. It's almost like the street is aglow the way the shadows are cast.

This scene caught my eye. A grandma and her grandson were feeding the geese and pigeons by a lake at a park in Athens. I feel like I could've captured this better, but this was a standout shot.

This path surrounded by twisting "braces" had some interesting lines, but I feel like I really missed the right shot here, unfortunately. Would love another chance at photographing this when I wasn't on the move.

The little airplane that could. The simplicity of this shot is what strikes me. The tiny red airplane is trailing smoke behind it, clearly telling the story of where it's been and what's going on.
And that's week two! The photos of week one can be seen here, if you're interested. But I'll have daily posts for the remainder of October over at @luijten.photography on Instagram.
